Troubleshooting: “Facebook Limitation” Errors

Sometimes, Facebook may prevent a response from being posted through a third-party platform. If you see a “Facebook Limitation” popup, it is usually due to one of the following reasons:

  • Spam Filters: Facebook has strict algorithms to prevent “bot-like” behavior. If an AI-generated response is too long, uses excessive emojis, or is sent too quickly after another response, Facebook may temporarily block the API request.
    • Solution: Try shortening the response or writing a more simple, manual response to see if it clears the filter.
  • Recommendation vs. Review: Facebook recently shifted toward “Recommendations.” Some older review types or specific mobile “Check-in” posts do not support third-party API replies.
    • Solution: In these rare cases, you must click the link to reply on Facebook directly.
  • Expired Connection: For your security, Facebook “access tokens” expire periodically.
    • Solution: If you cannot reply to any reviews, go to your Settings and re-link your Facebook account to refresh the connection.
  • Permission Changes: If your role on the Facebook Page has changed (e.g., you are no longer an Admin or Editor), you will lose the ability to reply through our platform.
